Enneagram Type 5 Practice Group

A Different Way of Knowing

We’re offering a practice space for Enneagram type 5s to get curious about what is possible beyond intellectual knowing. We’ll experiment with the intelligence of the body: awareness, sensation, behaviors and yearnings, expanding the range of what we notice and how we know. We’ll also investigate how to tune into guidance from the heart.Come to play, experiment, and discover what becomes available when awareness includes more of you. Together, as a tribe of Fives, we'll explore the movement from observing to experiencing life.

We will explore the question:

What does presence feel like for a Type 5?

Who is this group for?

Participants should identify as Enneagram Type 5. Beyond that, this group is intended for those who are eager to deepen their own inner work and see themselves more clearly. It is intended for people who desire to lead with greater presence in their relationships and lives.

Why join?

There is a gift that emerges when we open into practice with others, and it’s rare to share a room with fellow Fives. Through this experience, you will recognize yourself in others—sometimes with startling clarity, sometimes with humor, and likely in ways you never could have seen on your own. You'll also see your unique essence with greater clarity, the Self beyond your identity as a Five. This particular group has a focus on cultivating embodiment skills and somatic awareness, powerful tools for those who often spend more time in the head. Somatic work in this way is subtle, not cathartic or overwhelming. The focus is attuning to the subtle messages of the body that contribute to new ways of knowing.

The Structure

We will gather virtually, spending 90 minutes together each week, 5 weeks in a row. Though there will be some direct teaching, most of our time will involve active participation in self-awareness practices, embodiment experiences, dyad inquiry, and discussion. We encourage you to remain actively engaged with the material between sessions. Please plan to join each session from a private space where you can be on video, stand up, move your body, and speak freely. During our time together, each participant will be invited to share and contribute their voice. We ask participants to attend all five sessions and hold what is shared in the group with confidentiality. Our group will be intimate, with 8–10 people.

This is a Practice Group - and a rare opportunity

This offering is more than an Enneagram training or course. We’ll use Type 5 as a shared lens while exploring sensation, attention, boundaries, relationship, and patterns that emerge in real time. Expect a mix of inquiry, experimentation, reflection, and play.If you lead with Type 5, it's probably not your natural inclination to join a group like this. And, we sense that there's a real yearning in many Type Fives for an experience just such as this. If it's a risk that calls to you, it's for you. We think you'll find worthwhile...perhaps even delightful.Topics we are likely to explore...
- Moving between inward and outward focus
- Internal sensing + putting words to sensation
- Feeling and working with fear and anger
- Containment and expansion
- Detachment vs non-attachment
- Abundance and gratefulness
- True knowledge - what is it?

Facilitators

We met through our work with the Conscious Leadership Group and are both certified in the 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership. We share an interest in the Enneagram not simply as a system to understand, but as a doorway into greater awareness, freedom, and choice. Together, we bring Cyndi’s depth with the Enneagram and Arielle’s somatic expertise to a shared practice of consciousness, aliveness, and transformation.

Cyndi Gueswel

Cyndi is a conscious leadership coach specializing in the Enneagram. She is certified as a teacher through the Narrative Tradition and incorporates the wisdom of the system in much of her work. Though not a Type 5, Cyndi and her Type 5 husband have been married for 32 years, so she knows the energy of point 5 well. As a coach, Cyndi fosters personal liberation and effective collaboration. She helps people create their desired future with more awareness and ease.

Arielle Dispenza

Arielle is a conscious leadership coach and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. An Enneagram Type 5 herself, she has found that weaving embodiment work together with the Enneagram has been potent in her own transformation—creating movement in places where insight and understanding alone had not. As a coach, she supports clients in uncovering the underlying patterns shaping perception, decisions, and action, always with attention to what is happening in the body.
